Studied art history and philosophy in Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, and New York. 2015 doctorate from the University of Zurich. 2005–2006 fellow for Critical Studies, Independent Study Program of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, USA. 2008–2013 associate researcher at the NCCR Iconic Criticism – eikones, University of Basel. 2009–2013 associate researcher at the chair of modern art history in the Department of Art History of the University of Basel. 2013–2015 associate researcher at the chair of modern and contemporary art at the Institute of Art History of the University of Zurich. 2016–2017 associate researcher at the chair of modern art history at the University of Vienna. Since September 2017 Laurenz Assistant Professor of Contemporary Art at the University of Basel.
