Limited accessibility
The Department of Art History at the University of Basel is not accessible to all (no automatic doors, 37 steps, elevator door 70 cm wide, no wheelchair-accessible toilet). Unfortunately, structural modifications are not expected in the near future. Nonetheless, the department is firmly committed to the equality of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Studying art history should be accessible to everyone. If you have a mobility impairment, or require other access accommodations, and plan to attend a course held at the Department of Art History, please contact the administration or the course instructor (ideally as early as possible). We will work together to find an appropriate solution, such as relocating the class to an accessible room.
