«From what point does the contemporary begin?» with Aden Kumler, Fiona McGovern, Len Schaller

«When and where does the contemporary begin?» «What counts as modern, what as progressive?» «What is considered pre-modern, backwards or completely outside of any historical timeframe?» «Who is part of history and who owns the future?» «How can we be truly in the present?» «How can we learn to be truly present?» Together with Aden Kumler (Art History, Basel), Fiona McGovern (Fina Arts and the History of Art, Hildesheim) and Len Schaller (Kunstmuseum Basel) we will reflect on how to write (art) history differently and center alternative, queer experiences and models of time, progress and success – with the idea of coming up with new, more inclusive visions of art and society. Moderation: Quinn Latimer (HGK, FHNW) Language: English / free entry
